Hello all, I run a pretty aggressive anti-spam policy. In doing so I need to import a number of spam related domains into the “blocked senders ” area of the “sender filtering” component on our edge server. In review it appears as though I can only add one entry at a time (no import, no bulk entry) and this simply doesn’t work when working with a list that contains 1000’s of entries. Does anyone here know how to import or know of a file that I can populate that will allow me to enter these entries in bulk format?

Although I don't have the exact command available, you would need to the below cmdlet pointing to the file containing the domains. Set-SenderFilterConfig -BlockedDomains

Shannon, Did you ever get a resolution to this? I'd be very interested in a solution since i have a similar situation. Have you any idea how to increase the max amount of entries that can be added to the sender filter list? I've maxed it out and without counting all the domains i've added, it's a pretty big list. I'm also in need of a way to export that list to another server. I DO NOT want to spend an entire week copy and pasting one entry at a time. Any suggestions from anyone? ~Brian

Just found this while searching through the forums...there's a few really nice scripts for CDO. Check out this link http://www.cdolive.net/download/cdoutilities.zip and download the ZIP. The script you'd be most interested in is the Exchange2000MessageFilterList.swf. Make sure you run it from the command prompt and using the following parameters: exchange2000messagefilterlist.swf <import> <export> <name of xml file> What this script does is gives you the option of importing or exporting the sender filter list into/from an xml file. Once you have a workable xml file, it should be pretty easy to script that file into your server(s) to keep it maintained. hope this helps! Still researching the max limits though... ~Brian

Last post from me on this...i've just discovered that the limit for Exchange's Sender Filtering list is exactly 847. Why it's this i have no idea...but that would be it. And after doing more research, it doesn't look like there's a way to increase this threshold. One hthe limit is reached you get an LDAP provider error ID no: 80072024. Well good luck! I'm going to start relying more heavily on our 3rd party spam fighting solution. :) ~Brian
