I have two questions I need help with:

1. Is there a log somewhere that tells me who has logged on to my server, for how long, and what was done?

2. If I want to set a password back to what it was one password previously, where do I find the option to remove that old passwords cannot be found.

I basically have a new IT person working on my account. Until a relationship has been built, I'd like to have control over resetting passwords back to what was given them, and not have to have a chain of passwords to remember, and have to keep giving them a new password every time. I'd also like to know when remote desktop on my server was accessed.

I'm running Exchange Server 2003.

Thanks.

Actually both your questions have nothing to do with Exchange but in reality are active directory related questions.

1. There is no such log that will give you this information but you can enable auditing on the domain controller or any server you wish to audit. You can enable auditing of logon\logoff so that you can see who logged onto a monitored server, and what time they logged off. The results will appear in your security log in event viewer.

2. By default active directory password history is enabled on the domain level group policy. If you do not want to have a password history, you can disable it or you can reduce the number of passwords that active directory remembers for users.
