I have a problem with an SBS2003 server with Exchange.
every account has next to the exchange account an pop3 account in Outlook. Iam cuurently trying to set evenything to the pop3 connector so that al the mail runs thru the server but....
At the company running @company.de are 25 users and the other users (total 45) are not at the same place, so Exchange needs to route non excisting users in the domain to the outside....

This problem would be easy to solve since Microsoft has a work arround: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;321721

At the end is get to the point where you have to setup the external mail server, that would be the SMTP server of there provider.
"c. Click Forward all mail through this connector to the following smart hosts, and then type the host name of the destination computer or the IP address of the destination computer. You must type square brackets ([ ]) around the host name or IP address. For example, if the IP address of the destination computer is 192.168.1.10, type [192.168.1.10]."

The problem with it that it is password protected and that there no such field (unlike the virtual smtp server) where i can add username/password.

Is there another work arround for my problem ? :(

If you need to authenticate to send email to a second system then this can be set on the SMTP connector. The authentication settings are on the Advanced tab under Outbound Security.

Simon.
