I currently have an Exchange 2003 Standard server. I would like to migrate to an Exchange FE and BE environment.

My plan is to purchase a new box, install Exchange 2003 on it, introduce it into the domain as a second Exchange server (BE), migrate all mailboxes, etc over to the new box according to this article (http://www.amset.info/exchange/migration.asp), turn off the old box, format and set it up as an FE server (OWA/OMA/ActiveSync host).

Now the questions:
  1. What do you think of this plan? Am I missing anything?
  2. After setting up a new Win2K3 Enterprise installation, what do I need to do to "introduce" this server into the existing Exchange environment? Install Exchange 2k3 and follow the wizard?
Any comments would be appreciated.

1. Seems ok
2. Yes, just join the new server to your Windows domain and run the Exchange installation wizard as before, it will add itself to the existing Exchange organisation in the domain.
