Status: offline 		I am using exchange 2000 and Veritas Backup Exec.  i backup both the information store as a whole which only takes 10 minutes and the individual mailboxes which takes almost 12 hours.  How do i speed this up?

You don't. Single mailbox backup is implemented very poorly within Backup Exex. For disaster recovery mailbox box backup isn't the way to go either.
