Hello,

Anyone is facing this problem. I have Windows NT 4.0 SP6a and Exchange 5.5 SP4 with all patches applied.

PLz let me know.

Some more information required. What does it say in the event logs?

I have checked the event viewver, no error messages.

ERROR MEssage on the screen appears as follows:-

"Application error has occurred and an application log is being generated. Store.exe exception: 0xc0000005, address:0x0064897c "

I manually start the Information Store Service and everything is back to normal, this started happening after users stared using Outlook 2003. FYI I have applied all the patches, but still the problem is there.

I started getting the same thing about once a week after adding Outlook 2003 clients to my network. I get a Dr. Watson in Store.exe and then IMS wil stop. I'm going to look into the resolutions described in Technet article 322829 "XADM: Internet Mail Service Does Not Start Successfully".

Hi crikan,

I currently face the same issue on my Exh5.5 the IMS stops intermittently and i only observed the Event errors. Nevertheless, i can restart the service after that.

Have you any resolution prev? Thank you.

Hi Guys - the following article in on Technet - 834466 The Information Store service and Outlook 2003 crash intermittently when Outlook 2003 clients connect to a mailbox on an Exchange 5.5 server.

This is happening to me as well. Microsoft are providing this hotfix free of charge if you call the number for your country.
