I have Exchange 2003 Enterprise server. Some users have Outlook XP, some have Outlook 2003. all of the users were migrated from Exchange 2000, their pst's imported into mailboxes (previously delivery was set to pst). Now here is the problem. Some people have their archiving working without a problem... and some cannot archive, it just goes through Archiving process, creates all the folders/subfolders but does not archive messages. I already tried different things, uninstalling office, reinstalling, recreating profiles... I cannot pinpoint the problem. in some cases Archiving just DOESN'T WORK... going NUTZ here...
Anybody has any ideas??? Thanks!

I am having the same problem. Makes the folder structures, but no messages go in them! Bogus!
Had any luck figuring this one out?

Nope, no luck... Tried so many angles... the only thing left is to call Microsoft and to find some simple solution that wasn't explained anywhere in the world.

Hi !
When you use AutoArchive, it archives items based on the modified date, not the received date. Copying and Importing will often change the last modified date, resulting in unexpected results when you attempt to archive items.
To confirm the modified dates are the problem when archive fails, add the Modified Date field to your view, Right click on the field names in the folder and choose Field Chooser. Select Date/Time fields from the dropdown and drag Modified to the row of field names. If you're using Outlook 2003 with the default multiple row list view, choose Custom and add Modified field from the Fields button.
Unfortunately I didn't find a solution for that so far. I seems that this effect occurs when Mail was imported from a previous version of Outlook (or any other mail client).
