Hi All

We're getting a bit of a strange error with Exchange 2013. We have 24 Exchange 2013 Servers with CAS/MB roles

We installed them with RTM and have been in the process of upgrading to CU9

At the same time our AD team was going through the process of replacing our 2008 R2 AD controllers with 2012 R2 Controllers

We have a child domain and the parent domain in the US.

setup.exe /prepareSchema and /prepareAD and /PrepareAllDomains was run in the Parent domain. This worked as we installed RTM on all Exchange servers.

When we started installing Cu9 we found that if we were pointing to a 2012 DC in our child domain it failed with the error

"The local domain needs to be prepared using Setup /PrepareDomain before server roles can be installed."

If we point the setup program to a 2008 DC it doesn't error.

We're scratching our heads a bit. Even Microsoft (we have an incident logged) are scratching their heads.

Obviously we've checked the AD versions and they're fine to run the Cu9 install

Has anyone seen this before?
