OK. Here we go. I inherited a MS Server 2003 Standard Edition R2 with Exchange 2003 installed. I am getting ready to setup the exchange for all of its glorious uses when I notice the following: 1) I cannot expand the Public Folders in ESM. Get the c1030af0 error. I researched this on the web and followed everything Microsoft and a few others said to do. No good. 2) OWA does not work. After I put in the username & password, I get 401 Error. OK, so I decide to install SP2, hoping it might correct something. NO. Now I do not even get prompted for a username and password for the OWA and I still cannot admin Public Folders in ESM. Should I uninstall and reinstall Exchange? What other options are there?? Any help, Thanks a bunch!! Seth

If there is no mail on the box you should just format it and start again from Windows upwards. If there is a little bit of mail on it you might be able to be talked through an exmerge to get mail out and then start again. If there is a full-on mail situation going on and you're trying to repair the box whilst the users are on it then we'll need more background and information. Let us know which way you want to do and we'll try to help.

Thanks!! There is some mail on the server, and a couple public folders. I would rather not have to reinstall everything if I can avoid it, I just don't know what to do. I have just uninstalled and reinstalled IIS services to the server in an attempt to bring everything back to defaults. I have no idea what the prior admin did at this point. After the reinstall of IIS, I am looking at the Default Web Site without any exchange information in it. I stopped and restarted the exchange services, and now I have a few that will not restart. Some of the IIS fields were populated in the Default, but not Public. I need to get everyone off of the server to do a restart and see what happens. I will update shortly.
