Hi, this may seem self explanatory, but I could use some help.

I have the 120 day trial version of Exchange 2003 running on a Windows 2003 server that I only have access to remotely.

Here is the history: Originally I had a fresh install of the server OS with updates and it's machine name was machine. I did dcpromo to install active directory for my domain, as well as DNS server service for my domain. At this point my machine was named machine.domain.com. I then downloaded and installed Exchange 2003 120day trial and ran the setup wizard for my domain and got email up and running for my domain. I setup users accounts and also Public folders. (AT THIS POINT THERE WERE NO SSL CERT NAME ERRORS) Then I went throught the SP1 upgrade for Exchange, and throught trial and error, got RPC over HTTP working. I had to re-install the RPC vdir and purchase a 3rd party SSL for the server. I chose a different name let's call it alias.domain.com for the cert, I configured DNS on the internet to point alias.domain.com to the IP for machine.domain.com as well as add an entry in the servers own DNS server service. I setup my co's employees with RPC over HTTP on their Outlook 2003 clients with the machinename.domain.com as the name of the server and then in the connect over HTTP portion of advanced connection, used the cert name alias.domain.com and MSSD:alias.domain.com and everything has been working great.

Here is my problem. When I log in remotely using remote desktop everything is fine until i try to go to the Exchange System Manager, Folders, Pubilc Folders: at that point I get a new window with the error "Exchange System Manager: The SSL Certificate Server Name is incorrect. ID no: c103b404 Exchange System Manager"

So far I just promoted my user to Enterprise Admin so I can modify Public folders from my Outlook profile running on my laptop, but I'd like to deal with this now rather than later.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
