I'm currently using a FE-BE Exch2k3 server arrangement and am trying to get OWA set up. I have it so that it requires a SSL connection, but currently you can only get there by accessing https://servername/exchange or /public.

I kind of messed up by not checking this before I got my SSL certificate, but I want to access OWA through https://webmail.business.com

Ideally I would like to also redirect anyone that types in http://, but just getting the URL without the server name would be great.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Can you access OWA via:

https://public_IP/exchange?

If yes you need to create a record on your external DNS server and have it point to your public IP address.

To redirect http requests to https see the section Redirecting HTTP Requests to SSL Requests in the sample chapter from by book:

Securing Exchange Server 2003 & Outlook Web Access: Chapter 5 on MSExchange.org!

Or search support.microsoft.com (contains a few articles desribing the procedure as well).
