Suddenly my exchange server stop deliver any outside messages to local mailboxes
Let me explain more
I have 2 servers
One Exchange 2000
Second Exchange 2003
More than 2 years without any problem
My mailboxes for all of my domain users are stored in exchange 2000 and there is Default SMTP Virtual Server and one SMTP connector
My adsl router use to route all traffic to exchange 2003 server and that server take care of the messages.
For more than 2 years everything going fine but now I see that any messages come from outside domain such yahoo, hotmail�.etc not distribute to mailboxes in exchange 2000 server.
Why I said -not distribute- and didn't say �didn't come from ISP- because I have some email accounts which use to forward any messages to external email and I see that any outside message came to them have been forwarded to their external email directly form my exchange server but didn't go to their mailboxes in my domain
I checked everything even I stop all securities utility without any useful. I found that if I stop Default SMTP Virtual Server in 2000 and started again then send some messages from outside I can receive for some minutes � 2 3 minutes- then same scenario came back again
Also any mailboxes in 2003 working fine without any problem.
Please its urgent matter if there any advices I will be appreciated

USe the Diagnostic Logging options in Exchange System manager on both Exchange servers and then check the event logs to see where the problem is.

Thanks for reply

I will check and post what I will find

But I have Questions

1 �Is Connector response about outgoing messages to outside domain or also response for Incoming messages to my domain.
    I mean if I delete my connector does my Exchange still receive messages from
    outside domain

2- Do I have to insert IP address of my ISP Gateway which response about
    Pushing messages from internet to my Domain in SMTP Relay and Connect
    Or just my domain subnet as Only the List Below

1. Connectors are for outgoing mail. The DNS MX records determine where incoming mail is to be delivered to.

2. I am not sure about this.If retricting access to SMTP Virtual servers via IP then you need all IP addresses of servers that send messages to your Exchange system or they will not get through.
