Hi,

Ever since we removed the Anonymous access from the Default SMTP, we noticed that all alert for specific applications are not coming through.

For example, in Backup Exec 10d, we were receiving notification but as soon as the Anonymous access setting was removed, we stopped receiving emails.

Is it possible to still receive alerts without enabling the anonymous access???

Try installing the SMTP service on the servers with the Backup software installed and enable Anon access but lock down Connection/Relay access via IP address. Then send alerts through them to be sent to your Email servers using DNS.
