Hello,
I am having an issue with some internet domains not able to send to a mail domain hosted on SBS 2003. The domain was recently transfered to a new server at a new location, along with another one. DNS has been updated and both domains are pointing to the proper IP. Both of them were setup using the built in wizard. Both of them can send mail without any issues. The second mail domain can also recieve without issue.
The problem seems to be that only particular external domains are having issue sending to the first domain only. Meaning I can send to the second domain without issues, but on the first I get a undeliverable mail error. Further, from other external accounts, I can send to both, as can others. It seems it is only affecting some and not all. This problem was not occurring before the move.
Here is the error that I got from one of the bounced messages: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: testing Sent: 4/7/2005 4:01 PM
The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
John Doe on 4/7/2005 4:00 PM The message reached the recipient's e-mail system, but delivery was refused. Attempt to resend the message. If it still fails, contact your system administrator. <domain1.com #5.2.1>
From my searching, I found that this was an error associated with public folders and there was a MS hotfix avaiable for it. I have contacted MS and applied the patch, no luck. I am still getting bounded mail from some accounts. I have also tried multiple accounts to send TO in the troubled domain, its not specific.
Need to get this fixed ASAP.
All help is greatly appreciated,
Justin
