Hi All Techie,

Let say if you can only have to choose 3, then which name should you put into your certificate so that the Exchange Activesynch and Outlook Autodiscover works ?
1. domain.com
2. autodiscover.domain.com
3. servername.domain.com
4. owa.domain.com

I'm still in the middle of confusion of which name should I take.

Thanks

There are certificates where you can add multiple urls to. Maybe that's an option for you.

Regards,

Johan

All you really need is 2 for 1 domain name.  mail.domain..com and autodiscover.domain.com.  Having the NetBIOS name of the server and the FQDN of the server name are not real requirements.  They're more needed when you want to access OWA using the FQDN of the server or the NetBIOS name. You can also throw in domain.com if you want to publish Autodiscover using your domain.com instead of autodiscover.domain.com

I wouldn't put domain.com in the certificate. Domain.com shouldn't be pointing at your Exchange server anyway, that should be pointing at your web site.
My preferred three is

server.example.local (server's real name)
owa.example.com (the OWA address)
autodiscover.example.com (the autodiscover address).

If you are using Unified Messaging (the feature) then the certificate MUST contain the server's real name, otherwise UM will not accept it.

Simon.

I probably should have added that I also prefer autodiscover.domain.com instead of domain.com, but domain.com can still work for Autodiscover if you want it to.

I just purchased a SAN Cert from Digicert and I went with the following:

1. autodiscover.domain.com
2. mail.domain.com (used for OWA and Activesync)
3. servername.domain.com

It works like a charm.
