Hi All,

I have just finished a 5.5 - 2000 migration, during which I moved all my distribution groups into AD, I configured them as Universal as this seemed the most like 5.5 distribution groups.

However since going 'Native' with Exchange 2000 I have found something strange with distribution groups.

In the SMTP Virtual Server Queues I now have a folder called 'Deleted Objects (Remote delivery)' Inside this folder are messages that were destined for my local distribution groups, this folder is constantly showing as 'retry' almost as if SMTP is attempting to deliver to a non existant domain.

As a test I have created a new universal distribution group, and assigned members to it, this however works fine! all members recieve any email sent through the newly created distribution group.

I'm asuming that something has happened to the migrated distribution groups since going 'native' as they were working fine in mixed mode.

Essentially, All I want to know is, shall I start re-creating my 100+ distribution groups? or is there a logical explanation and fix for this weird problem! :-)

Many thanks in advance!

Ben

Domain Info:
