My employer has tasked me to do a major face lift to their network, a network that has been neglected for too long. One of the major issues is to move to AD from NT4 PDC/BDC. Currently the NT4 BDC is running Exchange 5.5, and this is where my question comes in.

If I run the �over the top� install of Windows 2000 over NT4 on that BDC, will Exchange 5.5 still run on that machine once the upgrade of OS is complete?

why do you run upgrade on a working exchange server?

Is your resume up to date?

There are so many things wrong with your plan, I can't begin to list them.

My suggestion:
Get exchange off of a domain controller, then upgrade to ad.
