I am having tons of trouble with my current NT4 Domain with Exchange 5.5 runnign on it. 5.5 is constantly getting errors and shutting down, and it is also sending out tons and tons of blank messages from <> to anyone and everyone that I can see out there.

What I am curious is if there is an easy way to integrate a Windows 2003 Server and Exchange 2003 Server into the NT4 network, or if I should do a Windows 2003 Server with Exchange 2000 or an Exchange 2000 Machine with Exchange 2000 or any other combination of Server and Exchange would be best. "[Confused]" "[Frown]"

I do have some older SQL 6.5 on NT4 machines that I cannot remove or upgrade, I am stuck with using those as is, so I am not sure if I can upgrade to a full windows 2000 or 2003 Domain right now.

Any suggestions for me? Things to watch out for? Suggested reading? or ideas to help me speed the process up to avod downtime?

Luckily I only have 10 actual users on the system right now.

You cannot integrate an E2K/E2K3 into an NT4 domain because you need Active Directory for those to function.
The messages from <> are Non Delivery Reports and are probably the result of a spam hit, unless of course you have some configuration problem on the Exchange servers.

So is there anyway to install AD on just the server that I am putting the new version of Exchange on and then map the AD to the Domain in some way to let the NT4 handle authentication? Or setup Identical usernames in both the NT Domain and the AD on the Exchange server to allow for pass through authentication?
