Ok we were having a issue database limitations with the Standard version of Exchange 2003. So, we made the upgrade to the Enterprise edition. Now even though I checked the registry keys to verify that we are in fact running the Enterprise edition, we are still dealing with the same limitation issue. As a matter of fact, I cant add more stores to a separate storage group because of the limitations of the standard edition. In other words, Exchange is still behaving like the Standard Version but the registry says its the Enterprise version. And suggestions?

What is the database size now? Please check the registry key in follow web site for database limition setting. It can help to fix your problem. Well the issue isnt really the size of the database. The issue is that I made the upgrade from Standard to Enterprise. But Exchange is still behaving like a Standard version. I cant add new stores in addition to the two I have already.

Check the exchange version in the exchange system manager. Dismount the store and clear the application log and mount the store and check the version there. try to install sp2 and reboot the server and check it out the same thing Let us know the output

If it installed SP2, it still doesn't work. You can try to run "setup.exe /disastorrecovery" to recovery whole Exchange files and re-apply Exchange service pack. Hope this can help you!

OK I restarted the store and got the 18 gig limitation message. So that tells me that the upgrade didnt take. So my question is if I reinstall the Enterprise version again, will it cause any damage? Of course once I reinstall the Enterprise version Im going to reapply SP2. Am I safe to do the reinstall?

Ok Ok....here is the latest in my upgrade blues. I ran the disaster recovery switch. I checked the registry for the database size limits. And I checked the event logs for the size limits. I am still running the standard version. I cant add another store. I only have two current stores because of the standard limitations. So I tried a reinstall of the exchange server and I think my problem is that when Im doing the install I notice that the installation hangs and gives errors when its trying to stop the EXIFS service. I get a error at the end of the installation and a big red X beside messaging and collaboration during the installation. Any insight on this?

It says that the Exchange Message and Collaboration component failed because the service EXIFS didnt stop or respond in a timely fashion.

hi, It seems that some other service is trying to interrupt the setup. Set Antivirus service & Microsoft Search service : manual and stop it until the resetup happen. Stop any microsoft exchange service running and then try to re-run the set up process again if the above one fail we can manually remove the exchange and reinstall it back but there also you need to stop antivirus and microsoft search service. For manually removal http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833396 Before doing clean installation make sure you have installed asp.net, IIS, nntp & smtp service
