Status: offline 		I dont think you can upgrade from the RC1 to final release, you best option would be to upgrade from RC1 to RTM and then from RTM to final release.

 Migration from RC1 to RTM (or official) is not possible. This is the answer from Microsoft France we received. RC1 is not upgradable ...unless your company has a special agreement wich consist in authorizing Microsoft to communicate with the name of your company eg "Company X is testing MS Exchange". You must sign a special contract for it, then they'll give you a special version wich can upgrade RC1.

The RC1 can easily be upgraded to the RTM Evaluation version, which you can download from http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/trial/2003.asp, so I don't quite understand the answer you have been given by Microsoft France ?

I have upgraded from RC1 to RTM twice.... [Eek!]

Beta2 -> eval -> final

The Exchange 2003 BETA versions was only meant to be used in test enviroments, so if you're currently running any of those, it's highly recommended you do a "clean install" to get to the RTM Evaluation version.

I doubt MS will going into any kind of support if they are informed you have upgraded from a BETA version... [Roll Eyes]

When that's said I can inform you, I personally haven't had any problems on my Exchange 2003 Server which have been upgraded from BETA -> RC1 -> RTM (Eval). Currently used as a production server for several domains [Eek!]

I have a server that has been upgraded through every release to the Beta Team fron Beta 2, via the reinstall option.

I have compared it to our totally clean RTM build and with the exception of archiving the old OWA file from each version the 2 systems are the same with the Dll's and exe's.

BUT this is only because it is a demo system. If you intend to put your system live do it clean.
