I have recently tested the Upgrade from Standard to Enterprise on a seperate Exchange 2000 Server. During the upgrade or "re-install" we received a lot of errors but they seemed to be resolved once the original SP3 we had on our Standard Exchange box was added to the newly upgraded Enterprise Edition.

My question is other than the option to check the box to run the server as a front-end server (which only Enterprise is capable of), how are we sure the Upgrade went through? The build numbers are the same as well as version. Version 6.0 {Build 6249.4: Service Pack 3} on both the test Exchange Server and our Production Exchange Server.

If I saw somewhere a different number or the word "Enterprise" I would feel more confident before actually doing the upgrade to our Production Exchange Server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks!

A search of the Microsoft Knowledge Base at http:\\support.microsoft.com revealed the following:
