this is a test that i setup in my lab to make sure everything works fine before i do the real work. Here is the scenario. Basically I need to upgrade one of my domains to Exchange2k while the rest still use Exchange5.5.

Originally I had 2 NT4 domains (2 PDCs) computers setup with Exchange 5.5. I've setup so that the 2 Exchange servers talk to each other using site connector and routing.
PDC1 is setup to use SMTP directly connected to the internet(external ip), PDC2 is connected to PDC1 using site connector and forward all its mails to PDC1. PDC1 and PDC2's Exchange 5.5 both have their own domain name (e.g. pdc1@test.com and pdc2@test.com), except that PDC2's mx record is pointing to PDC1's External IP address so PDC1 can forword mails to PDC2 internaly. Everything worked fine.

Then I upgraded PDC1 to Win2k with DNS, AD, ADC and Exchange 2k all installed and configured. I can send or receive mails fine on the PDC1 Exchange 2000 machine. I have also created a CA to replicate/talk to the PDC2 5.5 server. The probelm is that I cannot send or receive any emails in the PDC2 Exchange 5.5 server. Not even from PDC1 to PDC2.

I'd like to know a solution for this as I'm sure there is. Also I cannot upgrade PDC2 to win2k and exchange2k until later, so I need 5.5 and 2000 to talk to each other.
