Since we store contact information in the users address book entries, it seems like a good idea to use this for a phone list. I can't figure out how to display the global address book contacts-style. I.e. can I set up a public folder that has the contents of the address book where I can choose which fields are displayed, how they are grouped, sorted, etc?

I haven't been able to do this either. However, using CDO and a little code, I read the GAB in one at a time and created corresponding Contact items in my mailbox.

Not sure if that answers your question....

I had a similar situation where I wanted to display the GAL as contacts. We created a public folder, exported the GAL to a CSV file, imported the data into a new contacts folder (on a client) and then copied the contacts to the public folder. Possibly not the most effective method, but it worked for us. Oh yea, each user needs to go to the public folder properties and check the "Show this folder as an address book" box.

Sorry, I guess I should have known that question was coming..
Open Exchange admin, select the global address list, select the range of items to export (use the control or shift key to select multiples), click on file from the menu and choose Save Window Contents. Name your .csv file and there you go. You can refine the quantity of what is exported by adding or removing columns from the view (select view from the menu, select columns,etc..)before you do the save contents function.
Good luck

I cannot figure if I can do it in Win2k Exch Ent.? Do you know if I can do it? Company move to Exchange 2000 server and now I have to deal with it.
Was very happy when SiriCam hit by all my users were ok .But now I
have to Admin it. I have about 2000 contacts and I want to find out if
there's any way to export it to created "All Address List", new
folder? I was looking about LDAP but I'm not programmer. Somebody HELP
me!?
And I want to add few contacts to that folder manually but don't have
permitions to do it? I did assign rights to read for everyone and
authenticated users, and give myself full rights but it still doesn?t
work?
