I have Exchange 2007 user mailbox and enable SCLJunkThershold and SCLJunkEnabled on Users Mailbox. But messages are not being moved to Junk E-mail folder. User has to go to their OWA, click Options->Junk Mail and enable Junk Mail filtering. This was the same in Exchange 2003. There were some scripts out there to enable all users Junk Mail processing. Is there any for Exchange 2007? And are there any other options to filter e-mails on server side. For, example, if message has custom header in it It will go into specific folder in users mailbox.

Have you installed the antispam agents on the exchange 2007 server or are you using the edge server on another computer? Here are some of my notes regarding the scl. Anti Spam Transport Agent Installation and Configuration Install the anti spam agents by running the following command in the Exchange Management Shell. cd to C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Scripts and run .\Install-AntispamAgents (This .\ tells the shell to look for the script to run in the current working directory.) Create the list of internal smtp servers. Is necessary after installing the antispam agents using the EMS. IP address is variable – obviously. Set-TransportConfig -InternalSMTPServers xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx Configure Antispam by going to Organization Configuration-Hub Transport-Anti-spam tab Review the SCL Junk E-mail folder threshold for the Organization by running the following command in the Exchange Management Shell Get-OrganizationConfig (If it is incorrect run the following command in the Exchange Management Shell:) Set-OrganizationConfig -SCLJunkThreshold 5 (or whatever number you need) (this is a greater than setting while in Exchange 2003 it was a greater than or equal to setting in the Imf)

All filtering is working OK. I can SCL headers and stuff. But Actual filtering is not working on mailbox level. User has to open OWA go options and switch on actual filtering. Then filtering is working according SCL set on user's mailbox. Settings on user mailbox: SCLJunkThreshold : 7 SCLJunkEnabled : True Bear in mind that these users never login using Outlook.

I saw this at another forum: Seems like the junk rule is not getting created or enabled until you visit OWA junk settings and enable manually. If your users will log on using Outlook, the rule will be created and enabled, if not the rule is not there. So the filter is setting the right SCL, the threshold is there, but the code that does the "move to junk folder" is not there. Why this is not provisioned out of the box: because when creating the rule you need to know the name of the folder ("junk" in english) and the rule is created with the right name for the folder after the user logs in, based on the client language.
