Well, hope you folks can help.

We have a stand alone Exchange 2007 SP1 setup. Everything on one box. No remotes anything like that. Well, another office with about 65 users want us to host Exchange for them on our server. The problem is they are not in the same domain and we aren't going to be making any forest trusts. I went ahead and created a few accounts to test. However, they have problems changing their passwords. Outlook says "Your windows password cannot be changed, your must logon to your organization". There isn't a problem accessing their mailbox. Its just the password issue.

Change the PW via OWA.

or give them static accounts with fixed PW.

Suggest 15 digits, complexity, with no dictionary.

If you make it tough enough, they will eventually agree with you and setup a trust.
