Hey everyone,

I'm having a very strange issue with a server running Exchange 2000 SP3 at a single site. Usually when a user has exceeded thier mailbox size and tries to send a msg they get a popup letting them know that the message won't be transmitted until some mailbox space is created (by deleting msgs or otherwise) thereby saving the msg to be transmitted to the drafts folder.

At this one site however the msg acts as if it was successfully sent and goes to the sent items folder. Much later a sys admin msg is delivered to the mailbox basically saying the message could not be delivered since the users mailbox was full. I've checked all the policies and they are identical to the servers located at other sites.

Anyone experience this and know of any way to tackle it?

Hi What happens if the user clears out old mail?
Had a similar problem once. Did a offline defrag on the DB to resolve the issue.
Also how close set is the different levels? Ensure there is at least 10 mb between intervals of notification. It migt be that the user has exceeded sending limits or the mailbox is locked out

Hey there,

If the user clears out old mail then the msg is sent. By the way this happens with each and every user at this site who's exceeded thier mailbox size and is trying to send a message. All are running Outlook 2k3 as thier client. The notification intervals are 20mb apart. I'll try doing and offline defrag this weekend and will let u know what I find. Thanks for the tip. Preciate it
