I have a support team. I want them to use a single group email address for all correspondence. For example if a customer has a question they would send an email to support@company.com. When someone from the support team responds, the FROM field in the email should read support@company.com. I don't want it to say "on behalf of" or anything like that. Additionally, they should not be able to click on the FROM address and see the group membership list.
We are running Exchange 2K3. PLEASE HELP!!!

I do not think you can use a GROUP as a from address.

I suggest using a user mailbox with the support@company.com address as the from address, and when a customer responds to it you can set up rule for the support mailbox to forward/redirect it to the support team members. Alternatively, the support teams members can add the support team mailbox to their own personal mailbox to view any new mail in it.

When using a mailbox to send from, you need to give users 'Send As' permissions (instead of send on behalf of) to ensure that only the support email is shown.
Users should have the support mailbox entry added to their own Contacts folder so they can 'see' it and then it can be be hidden in the Address list to stop others from using it.

Thanks PJ,

But will the method you recommended support multiple users.  My support team is made of 9 individuals.   Is there a limit to the number of different exchange users who can be given the "SEND AS" permission?   Thanks in advance for your help.

No, not that I know of. Ideally, you could set up a security group to add to the ACL of the support box and add the members you want to have send as rights.
