I have a single server installation with the anti-spam agents installed. I've created a quarantine mailbox, and mails are being quarantined. I've also made my regular user account the owner of the quarantine mailbox. If I log onto owa using the quarantine mailbox and use send again, the messages appear to come from the original sender when they arrive in the user mailbox. If I create an outlook profile for the quarantine mailbox and use that, the messages also appear to come from the original sender. If I log onto owa using my own user name, and then open the quarantine mailbox the messages also appear to come from the original sender. However, when I open my own outlook profile I have specified in the account settings, that it should open the quarantine mailbox as an additional mailbox. It does this without any problems and I have full access to the mailbox. But when I use send again to release the messages, they come from my own mail address instead of the original sender. Is there any way to make send again work properly if I open the quarantine mailbox as an additional mailbox on my normal profile? Thanks for any advice.

When opening the quarantine mailbox as an additional mailbox in Outlook, you must specify the quarantine mailbox user in the Resend From: field. This will make the message appear from the quarantine mailbox user.

How do you release messages from the quarantine and have the original sender in the from field? I have Exchange 2007 and messages marked as borderline spam are set to go to the postmaster mailbox. When I review the legit ones and try to release them to their original recipient using the Send Again button, the messages show up having postmaster as the original sender. Which becomes even more of a pain when user try replying to the email and they go to postmaster and take the original sender right of the email conversation. The Resend From: field will only allow addresses that you have permission to send the message on behalf of the specified user. HELP!! How do I release messages from the quaratine intact with the original sender?? Thanks!

Unfortuantely you don't. You're only capable of resending it using the quarantine mailbox SMTP address.

Actually, if you set the quarantine mailbox on a hub transport server with the set-contentfilterconfig cmdlet, then it will preserve the orginal sender address. This is in addtion to setting it on the edge server. When you open the quarantined message, click Send Again, and click send, then the message will be deilvered to the original user with the original sender.
