This may (likely) be the wrong place for this question, so please point me in the correct direction if it is.

I am a former gmail user that has migrated to hosted exchange for several reasons.  I still have all of my mail cc'ed to the gmail account.

I miss being able to search my old mail.  On gmail you archive every conversation, allowing you to find it later.

What is the best way to emulate this with an exchange setup?  I basically want a way to delete a message from my inbox, but still be able to search for it later.  The deleted items folder seems like a bad place to archieve stuff.  I disabled autoarchieve so that nothing was removed.

Perhaps changing the default deleted items folder would work best?  Any experience from other users is appreciated.

You need a Mail Archiver to go with your Exchange Server.

Check out some of the cheaper solutions such as www.gfi.com/ma
