hello,

We have upgraded exchange 2000 to sp3 in august last year.

A few weeks ago we deleted a mailbox of a user but after a while it needed to be restored.

We created a new mailbox and tried to restore the mail in the new mailbox.

But the mail never apeared in the mailbox but in the systemmanager of exchange you can see its there.
We have noticed that the name of the IPM Subtree before SP3 was "Hoofdmap van informatie archief" (Dutch!) and after SP3 it was called "top of information store". The mail was restored in the newly named "top of information store".

Veritas say's it's a microsoft problem and microsoft say's....... "[Smile]"

Is there anyone who have had the same problem ?
Any ideas ?

Dear Edwin,
Try this out. Go to Outlook Advanced find. In " Look For" Tab select messages and "In" Tab Browse "Mailbox - XXXXXXXX" not "Inbox" or any other folder. This is the root directory. Then search. The messagees will appear in "Top of the Information store" in "In" Tab. Cut all the messages and past it to Inbox. Hope you will get all your messages.
