Hello
I searched for this query I'm about to ask but no help found.

We are running OWA 2007 and we are a group of about 400 users. Some group aliases were created to ease the burden when wanting to email a department. So say we have an alias hr@myserver.com this would email everybody in the "human resources" dept.

These groups were pre-made by the admin user, and are not distribution list that you can make. My question is..... Would there be a way to view a list of the people in this example that are the members of the "humain resources" dept.

thanks
Ben

Your question doesn't make a great deal of sense.

If you look in OWA you can see the members of Distribution Lists that exist in AD so that's covered - even though you say you're not talking about DLs....... read on.....
What's this "pre-made by the admin user" thing that are not DLs?
Do you mean personal distribution lists that exist in PFs?

I second Mark on his thoughts.

Firstly, as i always ask - which version of Exchange are we talking about.
Secondly, where do you want to see these users ? Outlook / OWA / CSV / LDP Dump ?

Please throw some light on what are these groups ? if not distribution groups ? How did these groups get associated with Exchange ?

You don't create email accounts. You create Active Directory Accounts.
Then you either mail enable them which gives them an external email address so that they go into your Global Address List and you can select them from Outlook.....
Or, you mailbox enable them so that the AD account gets mail storage on your Exchange server.

Without knowing some precise terms neither I, Exchange_Geek (who is offering good help here as well) nor anyone else can get you on the right road which is what we come to these forums to do.
