Please could you help.

I have just taken over the management of an Exchange 2k Server on a Windows 2k Server.

I have no idea what the setup was like all I know is that the client has called me in to say that the virtual drive W: has disappeared and thus Exchange in not working.  It looks like their entire information store was running on that drive.

What could have caused this and how do I even go about trying to get that drive back???

The only thing he did before it all went wrong was download some windows updates but everything was running fine after that.  It was only 3 days later when they started the server that everything went wrong.

The event log records many many error messages saying the following:

The MAPI call 'OpenMsgStore' failed with the following error:
The attempt to log on to the Microsoft Exchange Server computer has failed.
The MAPI provider failed.
Microsoft Exchange Server Information Store
ID no: 8004011d-0512-00000000

Any ideas?

Thanks
