Hello,
Weve noticed that on our drives we are missing huge amounts of disk space. For example on drive I:\ - 177GB in size, 44GB free. Size of folders on drive =38.5GB. 177 - 38.5 = should be 138.5GB free and not 44GB - missing 94.5GB!!

We think this is Volume Shadow Copies causing this. For drive I:\ the shadow copies are advising that it has used 57.2GB on I:\ and F:\ is showing 40GB on I:\ as well.

Should we have this enabled on Exchange 2007 databases?
Can we turn it off? Stop the schedule, it seems to take a snap at 7am and 12 lunchtime.
What if we limit the sizes of the VSS to 1GB? The default for size is 10% of the drive it seems.
How can we delete the existing copies that are eating disk?
If we limit the size will it delete the existing ones?
