Hi,
I am a log analyst and I wanna know what exaclty is the info present in the transaction logs? Does it include logging info of Login/Logout, user activities like mail sent/receive/delete? does it have any relation or dependency on the other log types supported by MS exchange 2007 like message tracking, SMTP, agent logs, MRM logs etc?
Also, is there any tool by which we can convert the binary format of the logs into human readable format?

Thanks,
Yuvika

The transaction log files in exchange maintain records of all modification activities performed by users to their mailboxes. They will contain information on email messages sent and received, information on mailbox data but I dont beleive they contain session information. In general the transaction logs are records of changes performed on the database(s) in the storage group (since databases in the same storage group share a common set of logs).

Hi,
Thanks a lot for the info. Actualy I wanted to know the fields present in the logs. I am aware that the transaction logs are in the binary format. Is there any tool available for converting these transaction logs into readable format?

Thanks
Yuvika
