Any information would be helpful !

We currently have several Wks 2000 laptops who access there email through their exchange 5.5 client to a NT 4 server with Exchange 5.5 server.
While they are on the WAN\LAN they have no problems getting the email.
When they dial up to acces their email they get a Can't find Exchange server note that asks them if they would like to work offline. These same email accounts work perfectly dialing in with a NT 4 or a 98 laptop.

Thanks Gurden

Sounds like a name resolution issue. When they're dialing in, they're not recognizing the Exchange server by WINS name because the LAN adapter on the laptop is still holding it. Try disabling the LAN adapter when they dial in, or at least disabling the WINS service on the LAN adapter.

Also, make sure all of your basic connectivity is working (ping Exchange server by IP, also check to see if you can ping any other server by WINS name).

Hope this helps.

Gurden, had the same issue with my laptops . . . refer to the previous post or email me, and I'll walk you through the setup.

P.S. Try adding a LMHOSTS file to your laptop with the Exchange server's name and IP address.
