I have a E2K server which I backup with Veritas. Every night the job 'fails' due to the following error Warning "Username"? Top of Information Store?Inbox?004 April 2006?originally from Tigger" is a corrupt file. This file cannot verify. So I attempted to delete the offending email but his Outlook won't let me delete it. Does anybody have a method to delete this email from somebodies mailbox? Thanks in advance

Dear Robh, I faced the same issue with so many users in my customers exchange server, and i thought defrag will solve my problem, but it didn't , they this idea came into my mind, which solved my problem for good: 1. Under your Exchange Server create a new Storage Group, and new Mailbox Store. 2. Open Active Directory users and Computers and move the user mailbox which contains corrupted data from old Storage Group to the New Storage Group, but with one condition, when you start the move mailbox wizard, you need to choose to skip corrupted items or emails from being moved a long with the mailbox, i choosed to move the mailbox and skip up to 100 item or emails. 3. then start the moving of mailbox, which i am sure it will move successfully to the new mailbox store. 4. run your backup for only the new mailbox store and see if the backup finished successfully. 5. if yes, then move back your cleaned mailbox to its location and this time do not choose to skip any corrupted files, and to stop if there is any corruption on the mailbox. 6. run again the backup for the whole exchange server, and see the result. 7. if the backup finished successfully, then you have the choice to delete the storage group you created from these steps, or keep it to solve same issues for other users. another solution is to use Exmerge, this utility will let you export the emails from mailboxes into PST file, to know how to do it, please refer to the following Microsoft Link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260037/en-us please let me know if this post solves your problem or not. and let me know if you need more help. I am also having the same problem and have tried the steps above. Normally, I can just delete the file by going through Windows Explorer and restart the Exchange services, but this time I cannot. When Creating a new mailbox store, I got the error message: "This storage group already contains the maximum number of stores allowed." Please advise. Bryan

Dear, This issue can occur when you are running the Standard Edition of Exchange 2000 Server or of Exchange Server 2003. These versions of exchange have a limit of only one mailbox store. Although you are still able to create additional storage groups, no new mailbox stores are created within them. To create new mailbox stores, install either an Enterprise Edition of Exchange or additional Exchange computers. Regards Alaa Alian Al-Ankar Blog: http://ExchGuru.Blogspot.com

Hiya chap try the following; In OWA logon to the users mailbox. From the file menu in IE select OPEN and for the URL type /exchange//NON_IPM_SUBTREE">http://<exserver>/exchange/<username>/NON_IPM_SUBTREE and then tick the box entitled open as a web folder and click OK. You should then (from network places) be able to see the mailbox - open it up and you should be able to find the offending message and delete it. Its the same method that is demonstrated at: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2005/09/12/410624.aspx - which is very powerful. Thanks
