I have a client that is using exchange 2003 and when they see new mail in the inbox and open it to read and close it after they read it, it no longer is in the inbox or any other folder in the view.

But it I go to the same mail box in the Outlook WEB Access the mail is there in the inbox.

Anyone have this issue?

Check to see if the user has applied a custom filter, like "show only new messages". Any read messages will then "disappear". Outlook will in that case show "Filter applied" just right above the Received/Size columns in a folder view. It's amazing how many times my users have been able to activate that view by mistake. Selecting View->Current View->Messages should fix the problem.
