Is there a simple web-based HTML application available anywhere that would allow users to use a web browser to get to (read-only) information from the Windows Active Directory?

I am needing a phone book type application, that runs in a browser and provides a quick look-up into the AD.

Or (better still) it could be described as a White Pages application that allows read of standard information (name, location, phone numbers etc.) from the Active Directory - but also allows updates (where I am today) and extra fields like photos of users etc.

Anyone know of anything that is "ready to go" and cheap?
