Well, I've come across something really STUPID in Outlook, yup... deals with Archiving.
Let's say that while installing Exchange, your company Senior Management tells you they don't want Mailbox limits (with opposition from IT)... so you import everyone's HUGE PST file into Exchange. Now they're whining that it takes forever to load up their mailboxes. You want to archive their mailboxes to get rid of 3 years worth of email... but wait! You can't! Why?
Because the archive option looks at the Modified date, not the Received date. This mailbox is taking over a gig on your store. You have to wait 9 months before the Modified date reaches a point where Management has agreed upon.
How the heck do you archive these items, without manually sorting through each and every mailbox on your box, so you can put quotas in place?
Rich
Ps. Yes, I'm really frustrated about this, so I apologise for the 'tone' of my message.

Try exporting individual parts of outlook onto a seperate drive. ex. user mailbox = 1gig (300mb sent, 400mb inbox, 100mb cal, 200mb delete) export each one to it's own pst, then tell your boss that all the old info are backed up if he ever needs it. then archive info older than 1 year or what ever you choose. if the fool ever needs old info, you can import the appropriate pst file and make sure you check not to duplicate items already there.
on the side, if your users are not using the JOURNAL feature, make sure it's turned off. that takes up a lot of space.
