Well, it seems that we are being used as a Relay server for different webpages out there, our log shows that they log in and then send an email out using our server! ScanMail alerted us to this, problem is that we have relay turned off, and have put to only accept connections from specified hosts... but yet it keeps on, we look at the even log and it showed domain@domain.com <-- example. then that they logged on and sent out a message to an IP... what in the world is this!

Take a look at the article in the link below. It tells you how to setup a secure relay on exchange 5.5 and also gives you a way to test if you are susceptible to being used as a Spam relay. A lot of people say that they donĘt use relaying but in a lot of configs. You relay from the IMC to your domain. This is all internal to the exchange server. When most people think relay they think of fwding to another physical server not fwding internally in one server.
