Why are we getting these kinds of messages. We get probably close to 50 a day to various mailboxes. The users never exist.

If your answer is yes,
in fact this is a virus called MyTob. The virus is basically a combination of both functionalities of the infamous Mydoom and Sdbot viruses. DELETE THE MESSAGE IMMEDIATELY!

Thanks for your quick reply. I had assumed it was virus related. How can I eliminate the messages? Various members of our domain are getting them. I got 6 in less than 3 minutes just this morning. All with the subjects you mentioned. We aren't getting the actual virus emails, just the bounces.

TonyaMS,

I have included Virus removal on my previous post,
Go download the tool and run it; that should do it.
Update your own Virus software as well.
IF you go to Symantec, web site you will be able to download free Virus removal tool.

Are you saying we have the virus on the server or a box in our office? We run the corporate edition of Norton and it is set to real time as well as daily scans? There has been a lot of activity but it does not seem to have infiltrated us? My thought is that someone who has our name in their address book is infected?
