We usually wait a month or two before installing new Service Packs incase an issue does crop up.
Always do a full system backup before service packing 'just in case'.
I haven`t heard of any issues yet.

SP4 somehow hosed my RUS. RUS is totally dead. I've got a ticket open with Microsoft, but so far we're not getting anywhere. For some reason Exchange thinks the DC it is installed on is dead, even though all diagnostics and real world usage shows that its perfectly fine...sigh...

Fixed. Reinstalled Exchange with the correct user and permissions and works fine.

I recently installed a new Exchange server in the following order:
- Win2k Server - Win2k SP4 - IE6 SP1 - Blaster Worm Fix - Ex2k - Ex2k SP3 - Ex2k Security Rollup
And guess what... works like charm.
Regards, Steve

I rolled back to Windows 2000 SP3, and guess what, Exchange suddenly worked like a charm again. Nobody knows what went wrong, but looks like I am stuck at Windows 2000 SP3. Wish I had a test box, I'd try to bring up a Windows 2003 Server in this domain and put Exchange 2003 on it and see what it did.

There is an issue with SP4 about installing drivers. See windowsupdate website.
In fact, I suggest installing SP4 AND and security and fixes since SP4 as well, as they may clear up some other problems since SP4 was released. Thats the method I will use.
See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;822831&Product=win2000
