Okay.
Monday morning I came in to the office and my exchange server decided it wanted to give me a STOP 0x01 error and has decided it would rather blue screen than actually work.
So I took out the drive, put it in my workstation and made sure i've got a mirror of all the data (all seems to be okay)
Just to try and get the company's email working again, I brought up another Exchange2k machine and called it mail, where the other one was called exch-srv-01.
Installation went fine. I /forestprep'ed and /domainprep'ed and installed. Information Store Service starts. However, I have a slew of NTDS errors, ExchangeSA errors and so on. Before I get this thread going, my question is how do I go about on a checklist of what needs to be changed in AD to reflect the new box. In Exchange System manager, the old server still appears, and I believe this is probably the root of all my problems.
Any thoughts or anyone had this problem before?

Getting there....
I've followed some directions from the Microsoft KB about cleaning up PDC stuff aswell as seizing PDC roles and all that good stuff.
So now NTDS and event logs are coming up fairly clean except for some unrelated items.
Stores are mounting properly and all services are reachable. Only problem is now when I try to connect to to exchange using Outlook it fails. So I look in to ADUC and look at the Exchange General tab for a particular user and it is still displaying the old Store server. So i'm guessing AD is now the source of the problem. Anyone have any ideas how I can move the store information to reflect the new server? I've tried doing an "Exchange task..." of moving the store, however it requires that the old server be up and running and that's not going to be happening....
Any ideas?
