First time poster here..

I am interested in getting rid of my hand-writen appointment book in my office (finally). We have 4 machines running Windows ME, hooked up via a linksys router. One of the machines is the server/workstation, where our database files are shared.

I would like to know if it is possible to run Outlook and Exchange on these machines without changing the operating system, to be able to share Outlook on all the machines.

Or does anyone have any better/easier idea for me? I just basically need a good network capable appointment book.
Thanks.
Rich

Exchange 2000 or 2003 requires Active directory which can only be found in Windows 2000 Server or later. Still using Windows ME in 2003....now that's PRICELESS

What about XP? If I install XP on all the machines, will Exchange 2000 or 2003 work with Outlook?

You will need a Windows 2000 Server to run Exchange 2000 on, and as the previous posted mentioned you will need to implement Active Directory.

If you have fewer than 50 users you might look at Microsoft Small Business Server.

If you upgrade your workstations to Windows XP they will have no problem running Outlook and connecting to your Exchange Server.
