Is there a way to set the defaults for the Outlook 2003 mail server name and the user name for new workstations rollout? The machines are deployed vis RIS (remote install services) and I do not know in advance where a machine is located. The existing solution seems simple enough but they goof this up everytime:
1. Click on Outlook 2003 icon
2. Select choice for Exchange system
3. Enter the mail server name MAIL
4. Enter your name DUMBGUY
5. Check your email.

Would like to somehow provide this information to Windows so users don't have to remember complicated things like THEIR NAME or the word MAIL "[Smile]" .

Hi,

You can create a prf file and configure Outlook with this thru a registry key or startup parameter.
