Hi I wonder if someone can help with this issue?

We are running a predominantly Windows 2000 network with Exchange 2000 we have one Exchange server. When you go into System Manager under servers, as well as having our Exchange server listed there are also two workstations.

These two workstations belong to two members of our I.T department. The only way I can envisage these appearing there is when people attempt to install the Exchange tools they have fully installed Exchange.

Normally when I install the Exchange tools I would select Custom for the Exchange Server and Install for the System Tools.

Can anyone tell me the best way to rid our System Manager of these invalid servers???

Thanks in advance for your help.

Sandman - i'm having trouble finding the second article Q227.... do you have a URL?

As I have searched both Google and Microsoft KB to no avail. Also I assume I will need to run through both of these articles on both affected workstations?

Sandman - i've now got those two articles, can you confirm though by running through those two fixes am I going to impact my existing AD & Exchange environment?

As all I aim aiming to do is remove the two invalid Exchange Servers (which are actually IT workstations) from System Manager. I obviously do not want to impact my 'live' AD or Exchange Server in any way.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Your AD will be stable as long as you do not delete wrong thing from your AD. It is like deleting registry key, if you remove wrong key you could lock the system.

I have follow same process many times in the past whitout any issues.

Hope this helps
