X400 Required - 18.Dec.2003 5:59:00 PM

We are running E2k in native mode and have recently migrated from 5.5. Do we still need all the X400 addresses or can they be removed?

Please help

You still need them. For one thing, if you use any custom connectors for things such as unified messaging, or faxes for example, those typically use the x400 addresses.

The biggest issue with getting rid of them, is that it would break all the email addressing for the messages you brought over from your old system. Basically no one would be able to reply to a message created on the 5.5 x400 system without manually changing the address.

Thanks for that.

I have had a look at the recipient policies and it does say that the primary x400 address can not be disabled and all recipients must have an x400 address in Exchange.

would it be possible to rename the x400 addresses?
