We have an XCH 5.5 SRV running on WinNT4.0 that is used for internal mail and storage. The sending/receiving of external eMail is popped via Outlook 2000 clients.

When enabling the Out of Office Reply, only messages originating internally receive a reply. We've set up a work-a-round rule to emulate the assistant, but it would be nice not to have the client running.

Is possible to have the Out of Office Reply sent to messages originating externally w/ our setup?

Thanks,
Ralph

why not using exchange(IMS) for external email? thru this, you may use the OOO(out of office) rules.
