Ok, this is annoying. OWA works just fine for all of my users except for one.

It works inside on the network as well as from home...as it should. Now this one user that has an issue says he can access OWA from home or anywhere else, Starbucks or ant other Wifi location, with his laptop just fine.

The problem is with his desktop system at home. When he tries to connect, he gets the 'you are not authorized to view this page' error.

Normally I would say it is the user being an idiot, but this guy is actually a decent user. And the fact that he is capable of accessing OWA with his laptop from home tells me that he should be doing everything correct and that their is nothing wrong with his home network. So it has to be a problem with the configuration on the desktop...right?

I just cannot think of anything that would cause this error.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Slade

From what you say he can access email from almost anywhere so his OWA is fine, no two ways about it.
Get him to take a laptop home and test it. It could easily be something as silly as DNS on his ISP.
More likely is some setting on his home PC, set up by some bloke down the pub, that's the problem.

I don't even want to go anywhere near second guessing that story.

At the end of the day, your systems are fine. Unless you have some support agreement that lets you go to his house to look at the PC or he brings the box to work, you're stuck. Perhaps he'll let you take his PC home for a night to fix it up? Usual rate is a couple of bottles of decent Chablis.

-------What browser he is using at home?
-------Does he have any software firewall installed on his PC?
If he has a firewall, shut it down completely and try to connect?

I would check these first of all, have him download
firefox,

---is he getting the same massage?
Since he is able to connect with his laptop, As it is suggested, have him use his laptop from his home to see if he is going to be able to connect to OWA.

I am thinking software firewall issue, on the desktop.

Good luck,
Best regards,
Oz
