Just installed a new Exchange in a different domain. The new Exchange is configured to relay emails through the old exchange server in another domain.

There's no problem sending emails internally. However when I try sending externally, I get this error:

You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For assistance, contact your system administrator.

<mailserver #5.7.1 smtp;501 5.7.1 ..relaying denied>

Any help would be appreciated..

It sounds like you need to configure the SMTP virtual server of your original Exchange domain to allow relay from the IP address of the new Exchange domain SMTP server.

Make sure that in the default smpt virtual server properties -- access - relay tab - make sure the new server's ip is mentioned - so that the new server can use this server for relaying purposes.

Cheers,
